The safari camp’s tented suites come in three flavours: twelve classic tents nestled in the forest near the Saparingo River, twenty superior tents among shady trees and eight superior view tents overlooking the Mara plains (of which three are family suites). The generously sized tented suites on stilts each have large screened-in decks, deep wraparound benches with cushions and en-suite bathrooms. The tents have Masai-inspired interiors that showcase stained cypress wood furniture, tribal decorations and contemporary use of locally sourced materials. Comfy, oversized beds with spectacular views will make waking up and snoozing off an absolute pleasure. Each tent comes with a complimentary pair of Swarovski Optik binoculars for use during the length of your stay.
Okay, so let’s talk food. &Beyond Kichwa Tembo has an amazing kitchen garden which the kitchen staff tends to and uses to prepare its healthy organic meals. Meals are enjoyed in an open and airy restaurant-style dining room in full view of an open kitchen. The resident chefs add a very warm and cheerful atmosphere to every meal. Night safaris, off-road driving, bushwalks and more. These are just a few of the exciting safari adventures you can embark upon during your stay. The camp is well known for employing female Masai safari driver-guides. Two daily game drives are included in the price of your stay. For a more hands-on safari, you can choose to go on walking tours in the bush. Skilled Maasai guides will teach you how to track animals by identifying paw prints and movements in foliage. Some activities such as a hot air balloon safari, bush walks, a community visit to a Masai manyatta and horseback riding safaris are available at a surcharge. For families travelling with children, there’s the ‘Wildchild at Kichwa Tembo’ program (surcharge applies) which includes:

Our room was beautiful and the view from our room was fantastic (highly recommend the superior view) - we saw a giraffe and a buffalo from our room, and you could look out over the Masai Mara while you showered. The food was delicious - breakfast, lunch and dinner were all multiple courses, they certainly spoiled us. On our game drives, we saw everything we hoped for on our trip to Africa! Our top 3 were male lion, rhino and cheetah. We saw them all in the first 24 hours! I highly recommend a trip to the Masai Mara and a stay at AndBeyond Kichwa Tembo - I’m sure you’ll love it as much as we did!

Kichwa Tempo was perfection and more! It felt like we were arriving at the home of good friends. Such a special feel here - loved the design, the grounds, the view, the feeling of space. And the people!!! We were absolutely blown away by their warmth, their beautiful smiles (always!) and their attention to us having the perfect experience. The surprises were so much fun (you’ll see)! It felt good to support their mandate of sustainability, care for the wildlife, the land and the people - such admirable and welcome goals.
