Activities at Karen Blixen Camp
No stay at the Karen Blixen Camp is complete without participating in a game drive. Each stay includes both a morning and evening game drive through the Mara North Conservancy with the option of driving into the Masai Mara National Reserve proper to witness the famous Great Migration. Groups are limited to six people for intimate sightings of Leopard Gorge, endangered African wild dogs and lots of big cats. As the sun sets and the stars make their first appearance, night game drives allow guests to experience the thrill of the African wilderness after lights out. After an exhilarating trip, guests will return to camp for a late dinner next to a toasty fireplace underneath the stars where friends can exchange stories of an action-packed day in the savannah.
For an additional cost, guests are welcome to join a local guide on foot for a walking safari or nature walk through the conservancy, where there is an abundance of bird life and smaller wildlife to explore. On the walk, guests will learn about the local area and how the indigenous plants are used by locals for medicinal and ritualistic purposes.
Guests can also experience nature from a bird’s perspective in a high-flying hot-air balloon soaring across the magnificent African savannah (at an additional cost). Starting the adventure of a lifetime as the sun is just awakening, guests will climb up into the basket as it leaves the ground to explore the stunning Mara North Conservancy from above.
After an action-packed trip, guests at the Karen Blixen Camp can enjoy a day of relaxation and rejuvenation at the camp’s spa, where a variety of wellness treatments from experienced therapists trained in the centuries-old practice of African Kukanda massage are available. Relaxing in the privacy of your own outdoor veranda, guests can choose from facial massages, head and neck massages and more. The camp’s pristine swimming pool offers another great way to recharge and enjoy the fantastic views whilst regenerating under the graceful acacia and olive trees before heading out for the second game drive of the day.
Tripadvisor comments Karen Blixen Camp
Imagine a Jeep safari. Give it a 5/5. Karen Blixen Camp was beyond our imagination - a 10/5. They went over and above to make our dreams come true. Long drives if wanted, surprise bush meals, village visits. Truly was an epic natural and cultural experience.

We had a fantastic trip! We saw more animals activity (lions feasting on a water buffalo!) during our safaris than we could have hoped for. Staying at the Karen Blixen Camp was a bonus! The staff was attentive, kind & absolutely accommodating. We felt well taken care of
